Our devoted and generous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jimolivephotography.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">photographer Jim Olive<\/a>, a native Houstonian, has been transplanted as an invasive to the California desert, where he has adapted by taking beautiful photos of local cacti and flora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jim is a sought-after commercial photographer, as well as a naturalist who can name virtually every tree and plant in Latin as well as identify bird songs, eggs, and nests, animal scat, tracks, etc. He is also the founder and executive director of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.christmasbayfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Christmas Bay Foundation<\/a> as well as the photographer for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tamupress.com\/book\/9781603447829\/the-book-of-texas-bays\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Book of Texas Bays<\/a>, written by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jimblackburninfo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">environmental attorney and poet Jim Blackburn<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Photographer Jim promises he will be flying through soon. But in the meantime the impatient backup photographer climbed over the fences and followed the well-used dirt path out to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.savebuffalobayou.org\/?p=9663\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9663\" target=\"_blank\">forbidden bank of the bayou<\/a> in our public Memorial Park. There to document the greenery flowering along one of the last <a href=\"https:\/\/www.savebuffalobayou.org\/?p=9744\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9744\">relatively natural, historic stretches of Buffalo Bayou<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here is the temporary photo until Jim lands here.
